Nematology Lab
The IFQAL Nematology Laboratory was opened on July 17, 2008 to address the discovery of the potato cyst nematode in a soil sample from Shelley, Idaho. In the first nine months, the laboratory analyzed over 36,000 soil samples to both trace back to and delineate the area of infestation. The laboratory continues to analyze samples to verify that fields are PCN free. Our laboratory served as the model for the USDA lab, which was built in Idaho Falls to examine samples from the regulated area.
